Cooking 101: The Mother Sauces

In the French culinary tradition, there are sauces known as “Mother Sauces” – Tomato Sauce, BĂ©chamel, VeloutĂ©, Espagnole, and Hollandaise. Knowing these basic Mother Sauces provide a foundation to experiment and create new sauce and dishes.
