Little Listeners Storytime

Enjoy stories, hand on activities and more geared to ages 2 to 4. Summit Branch fall storytime take place on Wednesdays at 11 AM from September 6 to November 15.

Caregivers and younger siblings are encouraged to relax, socialize and have a warm beverage in our seating area.

Get Creative: Carving 101

Join Bob Badertscher from South Central Woodcarvers to learn about the creative hobby of woodcarving. He will share examples and teach you the techniques to create your own carving out of a bar of soap.

LD & Pat’s Cruise-In and Vandercook Lake Festival

Jackson District Library’s Summit Branch will be sponsoring the ABC Sisters from 11 AM to 1 PM at the LD & Pat’s Cruise-In and Vandercook Lake Festival on Saturday, July 15.

The ABC Sisters are an Andrews Sisters Tribute Act. Performing in the Midwest, they bring the old favorite scat classics home with perfect three-part harmony, 40’s dancing style, and sisterly fun, making audiences laugh, cry, clap and sing along.

The library staff will also have an activity area from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm for the kids featuring yard games. Come meet the library staff, learn more about what the library has to offer, enjoy the ABC Sisters and have fun!

As our bodies and minds change with age, people ask- “How can I connect with my mom? My clients? My neighbor?” TimeSlips says try imagination! TimeSlips supports a global movement to bring meaning to late life through creative engagement.

As warm weather approaches, so does fishing season! Join us at the Summit Branch to learn more about the risks and benefits of eating fish caught in Michigan. The Eat Safe Fish Guide contains fish consumption guidelines and advisories to help Michiganders plan their fish consumption to minimize exposure to chemicals that can build up in fish, while still getting all the health benefits of eating fish!
