Celebrate March is Reading Month by taking over your library!
Whether you bring your own book or pull one out of the stacks, patrons of all ages are encouraged to stop by any JDL branch on March 1 during open hours, find a cozy chair or corner, and read the day away. Pajamas are encouraged!
Celebrate Black History Month by creating art inspired by African American artists! Art creation days will take place in the Meijer Branch Community Room on February 1, 3-5 PM and February 9, 10 AM-12 PM. Supplies, information and inspiration will be provided.
Artwork will be on display February 19-March 1 during open hours.
Please note: art can be a messy process, and patrons are encouraged to dress accordingly when attending the art creation days.
If you would like to create your piece of art at home, submissions must be received by February 16 to be included in the display.
JDL storytimes offer age-appropriate books, music, and activities for babies, toddlers, families, and young children. Most importantly, they help develop everyone’s imaginations!
Meijer Branch Storytime: Wednesdays, 10:30 AM (ages 3-5)
Storytimes will run weekly from January 10 to May 15.
Please note: There will be no storytime during the week of March 25 due to Spring Break activities.

Celebrate Lunar New Year at the Meijer Branch with a shadow puppet performance of the nian monster story.
Intended for ages 5+.
Join us at the Meijer Branch on Thursday mornings in January to work on a puzzle with other community members over coffee and tea. Light refreshments will be provided from 9-11 AM, but the puzzles will be there to work on all month long.
Show your love of the Mitten State with this fun holiday craft at the Meijer Branch! We’ll be making a pair of wooden Michigan ornaments: one to give and one to keep.
