Creative Connections

Patrons of all abilities are welcome to join us at the Meijer Branch on the first Thursday of the month from 10 AM-12 PM for Creative Connections!

Blood Drive

Join us for a blood drive at the Meijer Branch on June 20 from 10 AM – 1:30 PM. Appointments are preferred, however walk-ins are accepted.

Cyanotype Printing

Learn how to create cyanotype prints on paper and a canvas tote bag at the Meijer Branch!

Cyanotype prints or “sun prints” use the sun to create stunning blue and white silhouette images. All supplies will be provided, though if you have a special object that you would like to make a print of, feel free to bring it with you!

Craft Supply Swap

Join us for a craft supply swap at the Meijer Branch! Clear out your cubbies, closets, and stashes of those unwanted craft supplies, and take home something you’ll actually use.

Drop-off Times: July 14-19 during open hours and July 20 from 9-10 AM
Swap Time: July 20 from 10 AM-4 PM

National Parks Storytime

Join us at the Meijer Branch for a special storytime about our National Parks! We’ll read stories, sing songs, and make a National Parks themed craft together.

Intended for ages 3-6. No registration required.

Nintendo Night

The Meijer Branch invites patrons of all ages and skill levels to enjoy an evening of gaming!

Two Nintendo Switches will be provided; one for competitive games like Smash Bros. and one for casual games like Mario Kart. If there are any special requests for games, please contact the Meijer Branch at 517-788-4480 and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

This program will take place on the third Thursday of the month from 5-7 PM. No registration required.

Birds of Prey: A Bird’s Eye View

Join us to discover birds of prey, including hawks, owls and falcons from the Outdoor Discovery Center! You’ll get to see the birds up close and learn about their habitat, as well as explore hands-on artifacts including skulls, feathers, pelts, and talons.

Families are welcome. No registration required.

Michigan Science Center presents Kaboomistry!

Why do things explode? Kids can learn about the relationships between pressure, temperature, and fuel to explain why things go KA-BOOM! We’ll mix physics and chemistry to get some loud, flashy effects!
