Spore Prints

Explore the world of Fungi with Albion’s Kids ‘N’ Stuff Museum! Kids ages 7-13 will learn about the parts of a mushroom, participate in a “mushroom dissection,” and then use their mushroom to create a piece of art.

Americana Instruments

Join us as musician, teacher, and collector of antique instruments, DeeDee Tibbits performs on various Americana instruments including the Dulcimer, Ukelin, Native American Flute, and Marxochime instruments.

About the Presenter: DeeDee Tibbits, hammered dulcimer extraordinaire, began her impressive musical career in Michigan’s thumb, growing up as part of the musical Bauman family. By age 12, DeeDee was already an accomplished musician with a repertoire of at least four instruments. As if they are dear friends, DeeDee weaves story and background for her unusual instruments throughout her performance.

Mandala Foam Art

Mandalas are ancient geometric symbols that are often used to help center and focus. Come focus your attention by creating your own Mandala foam art at the Grass Lake Branch.

Library Takeover Read-In

Celebrate March is Reading Month by taking over your library!

Whether you bring your own book or pull one out of the stacks, patrons of all ages are encouraged to stop by any JDL branch on March 1 during open hours, find a cozy chair or corner, and read the day away. Pajamas are encouraged!

Storytime at the Grass Lake Branch

JDL storytimes offer age-appropriate books, music, and activities for babies, toddlers, families, and young children. Most importantly, they help develop everyone’s imaginations!

Grass Lake Branch Storytime: Thursdays, 11 AM (ages 3-5)

Storytimes will run weekly from January 11 to May 16.

Please note: There will be no storytime during the week of March 25 due to Spring Break activities.
