From Mesopotamia to Modernism: Western Music History

Is it possible to learn about thousands of years of music history in 2 hours? Absolutely!

Join Dania Cleveland, BFA for an accessible (and most importantly, interesting!) overview of the history of Western Music, and how it all connects from ancient civilizations to modern day.

Whether you’re just curious about the history of music or you’re interested in learning some basic music theory, there’s something for everyone.

This event will take place on January 17, 5-7 PM at the Carnegie Library. Intended for ages 12+.

Yoga at Carnegie

Come relax, unwind, and take care of your body with the slow and gentle flow of yoga at the Carnegie Library!

Bring your own mat. If you do not have one, a limited amount may be available.

This program takes place on the first Monday of the month at 3 PM.

Old Time Radio Show

Do you enjoy nostalgia and history? Join us on January 20 at 1 PM at the Carnegie Library to hear an Old Time Radio Show presented by Center Stage Jackson.

The shows will be presented in the Quiet Reading Room in front of the fireplace.

 

Storytime at the Carnegie Library

JDL storytimes offer age-appropriate books, music, and activities for babies, toddlers, families, and young children. Most importantly, they help develop everyone’s imaginations!

Carnegie Library Storytime: Thursdays, 10 AM (ages 0-5)

Storytimes will run weekly from January 11 to May 16.

Please note: There will be no storytime during the week of March 25 due to Spring Break activities.

 

Heart Book Folding

Looking forward to Valentines Day? Join us at Carnegie on February 4 at 2 PM to learn about basic book folding. Participants will be making a heart out of a book.
