Puzzle Competition

Consider yourself a puzzle master? Grab a group of four and race to beat the other teams to determine who is the fastest of them all.

All ages can participate; however, all teams will be competing against each other.

Bluey Obstacle Course

Bluey fans can stop by the Carnegie Library to make their way through an obstacle course and play keepy uppy!

This drop-in event will take place on the Carnegie Library front lawn, weather permitting. Intended for ages 2-10.

Birds of Prey: A Bird’s Eye View

Join us to discover birds of prey, including hawks, owls and falcons from the Outdoor Discovery Center! You’ll get to see the birds up close and learn about their habitat, as well as explore hands-on artifacts including skulls, feathers, pelts, and talons.

Families are welcome. No registration required.

Carnegie Cart

Stop by the Carnegie Library auditorium to play Mario Kart and Mario-themed board games!

All ages are welcome. No registration required.

Summer Soirée

Join us on the Carnegie Library front lawn for our 2nd Annual Summer Soirée! All are welcome for an evening of community fun, food and games.

Food and refreshments will be provided by Klavon’s and West Texas BBQ.

This event is free and open to the public. No registration required!

In the case of inclement weather, this event will be rescheduled to June 20.

Kaboomistry

Michigan Science Center presents Kaboomistry!

Why do things explode? Kids can learn about the relationships between pressure, temperature, and fuel to explain why things go KA-BOOM! We’ll mix physics and chemistry to get some loud, flashy effects!

No registration required.

After Hours Board Game Night

Enjoy an evening of board games at the Carnegie Library!

You can bring a board game or borrow one of ours to play – just make sure to arrive before we close the doors to the public at 6 PM!

Michigan Notable Books Author Talk

Jackson District Library is honored to be a location selected to join the 2024 Michigan Notable Books Author Tour!

Please join us in welcoming author Katie Williams to the Carnegie Library on Thursday, June 6 at 6 PM for a presentation on her novel, My Murder.

The first 40 attendees will receive a free copy the book.


About Michigan Notable Books: The Michigan Notable Books program is designed to promote reading, Michigan authors and stories by annually selecting 20 titles that best reflect the diverse ethnic, historical, literary and cultural experiences in the state.

Come relax, unwind, and take care of your body with the slow and gentle flow of yoga at the Carnegie Library!

Bring your own mat. If you do not have one, a limited amount are available.

This program takes place first Monday of each month at 3 PM.
