Birds of Prey: A Bird’s Eye View

Join us to discover birds of prey, including hawks, owls and falcons from the Outdoor Discovery Center! You’ll get to see the birds up close and learn about their habitat, as well as explore hands-on artifacts including skulls, feathers, pelts, and talons.

Families are welcome. No registration required.

Intro to Foraging

Join us at the Brooklyn Branch to learn about how to get started foraging with Rachel Mifsud from Will Forage for Food. Rachel will cover foraging basics such as why forage, what things do you need to think about, and where do you start learning.

Time for questions and answers will also be available.

Library Takeover Read-In

Celebrate March is Reading Month by taking over your library!

Whether you bring your own book or pull one out of the stacks, patrons of all ages are encouraged to stop by any JDL branch on March 1 during open hours, find a cozy chair or corner, and read the day away. Pajamas are encouraged!

Gnome Ornaments

Drop in to the Brooklyn Branch to decorate wooden gnome ornaments!

Intended for ages 5+ (younger children may need an adult to help). Available while supplies last.

Storytime at the Brooklyn Branch

JDL storytimes offer age-appropriate books, music, and activities for babies, toddlers, families, and young children. Most importantly, they help develop everyone’s imaginations!

Brooklyn Branch Storytime: Thursdays, 11 AM (ages 0-5)

Storytimes will run weekly from January 11 to May 16.

Please note: There will be no storytime during the week of March 25 due to Spring Break activities.

Halloween Party

Join us for a party at the Brooklyn Branch with Halloween-themed games, activities and fun! Costumes are welcome but not required.

Intended for ages 4-10.

Music & Movement for Littles

Join us to introduce your child to the joy of music and movement at an early age. For ages 0-5, with an adult.

This program is led by Kindermusik-certified instructor Candy Sweeney. Registration is required, please register at the branch where you plan to attend.
