Banned Book Club

Read a book during banned book week, October 1-7. Then join the Meijer Branch on October 16 from 4-5 PM to discuss and reflect on the book.

For teens and young adults. Stop by or call the branch at 517-788-4480 for more information.

Mini Comic Books

Did you know that people have tried to ban all kinds of comics, like The Amazing Spider-man and Batman? Comics have a long history of bans and self-censorship, so we’re celebrating Banned Books Week by creating mini comics. If you can fold paper and draw a story, you can make a comic!

Drop in any time to make your very own mini comic books during Banned books Week, and learn about the history of comic book censorship.

This program is intended for teens and will take place from Monday, September 23 through Saturday 9/28 at the following branches:

  • Brooklyn
  • Carnegie
  • Meijer
  • Napoleon
  • Spring Arbor
