The Art of Storytelling: Life Into Words

November 6 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm EDT

This highly interactive virtual workshop focuses on the relevance of the spoken word and the oral tradition in an educational setting. Teachers can learn how to take a story off the page and bring it to life and how it can be used to support the curriculum.

Storyteller and teaching artist Noa Baum, engages participants in dynamic hand-on activities to experience their creativity, and find their unique storyteller voice as she introduces them to the valuable role storytelling plays in the cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Teachers will:
Discover the power of oral language
Learn a few simple steps to remember and tell a story
Gain tools to hold students’ attention
Develop creativity and self-expression

This workshop is open to all Jackson County K-5 teachers, and participants will receive continuing education credits. To register, click here.

The Art of Storytelling is part of Storyfest, a weeklong celebration of Storytelling. Learn more about the full line up of Storyfest events here.
