Space Day: A Celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Moonlanding
July 20 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm EDT
What’s happening:
- Costume Contest: Come dressed as your favorite space explorer, astronaut or alien. Prizes for best costume for three age groups: 0-9, 10-17, adult. Costume contest will be at 3:30 in the auditorium.
- Lunar Rover remote control obstacle course: Try your hand at maneuvering a lunar rover model through our obstacle course. See if you have what it takes to complete the course.
- LEGO Space Free Build:Use your imagination to build a LEGO rocket ship, space station, or UFO. Fun for all ages!
- JDL will be showing space-related videos and film footage in the Auditorium and in the Children’s Are in Carnegie. Including a sneak peek recorded interview with Dr. Kirby Daniel Runyon, who will be giving a presentation at Carnegie the following Saturday, 7/27/2019.
- Edible crafts and space-themed snacks for all ages!
- A universe of crafts: sky wheels, space slime, mini space ship, and alien in a UFO.
