Larry Martin “WWII In Their Own Words”
November 2 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am EDT
Please join us at the Carnegie Library for another installment of Larry Martin’s “WWII In Their Own Words” program. In November, Larry will be showing a video interview with Leslie Peck who enlisted in the U.S. Navy on December 15, 1941. Leslie was stationed aboard the USS Wasp when she was sunk at the Battle of the Coral Sea on September 15, 1942. He was then sent aboard the light cruiser USS Santa Fe. Leslie will tell stories about battles (including Tarawa, Okinawa and many more) Kamikaze attacks, and the typhoon call “Halsey’s Typhoon,” which sunk three Navy destroyers.
