Larry Martin Presents: WWII In Their Own Words

Join us to see Larry Martin present his interview with a WWII veteran and hear the stories and experiences that shaped our nation.

September’s interview is with Dick Broderick, who was aboard the USS Iowa – the largest battleship of the U.S. Navy during WWII. The Iowas was taking President Roosevelt and members of his cabinet to the Tehran Confernce to meet Churchill and Stalin when a U.S. Navy ship fired a live torpedo at the USS Iowa.
Dick was a “Plank Holder” of the USS Iowa and the Wisconsin, and later became a UDT frogman, which were the beginning of the Navy Seals.
