May 18 @ 2:30 pm - 7:00 pm EDT

This is a one-hour guided walking tour through the rolling hills of Mt. Evergreen Cemetery. We will be stopping by some of Jackson’s famous people/families to learn more about them. Participants will learn about Jackson luminaries such as William Sparks, the Merriman family, Emma Nichols Patton, Charles Deland, Byron Carter, and Horace Blackmon who was the found of Jackson.

Tours will begin at 3:00, 4:00, 5:00 and 6:00. For organizational purposes, please arrive 10 minutes before the tour start times. Parking is available in Brown Floral across Greenwood Ave. and in the parking lot across Morrell St.

The dedication ceremony of the new Underground Railroad historical marker will take place before the first tour. Arrive at 2:30 to view the dedication ceremony as Linda Hass and the Jackson City Parks Department officially dedicate this new historical marker.
